This year, electro-pop singer Kesha has been making a name for herself with appearances on several tracks for Flo Rida's newest album ''R.O.O.T.S.''. She is finally set to release her first ever single, "P. Diddy" later in the summer! The song is a hot, uptempo, dance-pop / electronic song, with an amazing beat, great vocals and clever lyrics. This track is very impressive, and I love everything about it. This should definitely put Kesha's name on the map next to Lady GaGa this year! Enjoy this exclusive!

On August 25th, ex-Destiny's Child member and r&b singer LeToya will be releasing her sophomore solo album ''Lady Love''. The album's first single "Not Anymore" failed on the charts, and she has now moved on to her second official single "She Ain't Got...". To coincide with the release of the single's music video [set to premiere later today], she has unveiled the official cover for the album. It's definitely something different, and reminds me a bit of Beyoncé's ''I Am ... Sasha Fierce'' promos. I like this a lot, and it is one of the most clever artworks I've seen in a while. Enjoy!

Rapper Jay-Z recently decided to got out of retirement, and release his album ''The Blueprint³''. The album is set of release in September, and his first single "D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)" was just released to radio! The song is a cool, r&b / rap track, which is mediocre at times, and interesting at others. The video is pretty bland like the song, and the only highlight is Jay's new head of hair, and the TV blowing up at the end. Jay-Z should learn a thing or two from his wife Beyoncé, if he wants this comeback to successful. Enjoy the music video!

Sometime in the fall, Latin superstar and belly dancing beauty Shakira will be releasing her fourth English-language album. Her first single off the album will be a song called "She Wolf", said to be released next month. To promote the song in Spanish-speaking countries, Shakira recorded a Spanish version of the song, called "La Loba". The song is a fun, electro-pop / dance song, with a great beat. Nelly Furtado also had a Spanish song leak recently, and I would love to see which one of these ladies do better! Enjoy the song, and check back soon for the English version!

(Michael Jackson Tribute)

On Thursday afternoon, we all witnessed the craziness in the media as the news of Michael Jackson's death was publicly announced. Yesterday, several rappers and r&b singers [The Game, Chris Brown, Diddy, Polow da Don, Mario Winans, Usher and Boyz II Men] all grouped together to release a tribute song to Micheal, called "Better on the Other Side". The song is a beautiful hip-hop / r&b song, with many meaningful lyrics, and a nice, smooth beat. The song is organized in a great way, and it is a great way to carry on the legacy MJ will have on us in the future. Enjoy this!

On September 29th, Mrs. Nelly Furtado will be releasing her first ever Spanish album, currently titled ''Mi Plan'' [which means ''My Plan'']. Her first single off the album is a song called "Manos al Aire" [meaning "Hand in the Air"], and it finally leaked in HQ today! The track is a good Latin / pop song, with nice vocals and a cool rhythm. I began learning Spanish about a year ago, and I really understood this track. You should give it a listen, even if you aren't a fluent Spanish speaker. Enjoy this!

Yesterday, the King of Pop, Rock and Soul, the one person who could bring the world's biggest enemies together, Michael Jackson, past away at the very young age of 50. Jackson was a big inspiration to me, and to most artists who we listen to today. His dancing, music and philanthropy made who most us are today, and it was too early for him to go.

If you already having been keeping up the local news stations, CNN, or the Internet, sources are saying he died of cardiac arrest. Other rumors are saying this dead came from a drug overdose from his doctor, who may have mixed some prescription medicines together. It is too emotional for me to cover all this drama, and keep checking MSN or Yahoo for all the breaking details.

In a respect to Mr. Jackson, I will be posting my all time favorite music video by him. No, it's not "Thriller" [which is still amazing], but it is his 9 minute-long video for his song "Remember the Time". It brings back so many memories, and now watching it back, I really see how he and this video have affected the artists of today. It's sad to see how he died so quickly, and his music will live on for generations and generations to come. Enjoy the video, and stop my his YouTube channel to watch some of his other classics.

In late August, pop diva and occasional actress Mariah Carey will be releasing her newest album, ''Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel''. Her first single "Obsessed" has received great reaction from the critics and fans and will be released as a single on July 7th! Here is the new cover artwork for the album, which she unveiled through her Twitter. It is very similar to a lot of her covers from her 90's albums, but I like it a lot. Many people have been wondering why she put 3 pictures of herself on the album, and it is because of her 3 personalities featured throughout the songs on the album. I cannot wait for this get released, because I know it will be hot! Enjoy the official artwork!

Sometime in the fall, Diddy will be releasing his album ''Last Train to Paris''. For the album, he created a special group called Dirty Money, consisting of himself, Dawn Richard [from Danity Kane], and another artist named Kaleena. Here is a new song which he is considering for the album called "Angels". It is a nice r&b / auto-tune song which makes a special appearance by the late The Notorious B.I.G. This is really great song, and love Diddy's 'singing' voice. Enjoy this exclusive!

A couple months back, r&b singer Chris Brown reportedly attacked his then girlfriend, pop superstar Rihanna. Monday was his court date, and a verdict was finally set for his future. Brown copped a plea in his assault case making him spend 6 months doing community service, with no jail time. He was also ordered to stay 50 yards away from Rihanna at all times. He will be doing his 1,440 hours in his home state of Virginia, but doing jobs like road and graffiti cleanup.

Chris recieved 5 years probation for a felony assault, and he must also enroll into a domestic violence counseling program. The judge said if Rihanna and Chris are at the same event, the stay away rule will become a 10 yards distance. If he breaks this law he will go to prison for 4 years. Chris is now a convicted felon and doesn't have the right to vote or carry a gun.

At the time of the attack, I did say we would no longer talk about Brown on this blog anymore, but I realized, life is short, and why should we boycott him for a little thing, when we should be appreciating his music. He has talent, and we need to put his personal life behind. Here is a new song by Chris which recently leaked called "Not My Fault". The track is a cool electro / r&b song with a fun, retro-club vibe to it. It doesn't apply to the Rihanna drama, and is an old demo, which I really liked. Enjoy this!

On August 18, Jamaican reggae star Sean Paul will finally release his long-anticipated album ''Imperial Blaze''. His lead single off the album is a track called"So Fine", a catchy, hot reggae / hip-hop song, which is slowly rising on the charts! The video is very futuristic, and is a whole new step for him and his previously boring videos. I'm also really digging the Lady GaGa-esque glasses he is wearing! Sean hasn't let us down in the past, and I hope this album turns out great! Enjoy this!

Last week, G-Unit rapper 50 Cent released his seventh mixtape entitled ''War Angel LP''! The album will not have any real single, due to his work on his real album ''Before I Self Destruct'', which will be released in September. Here is the video for a song off the mixtape, "I'll Do Anything". The song is a nice hip-hop song with more a changing r&b feel to it, and something different from 50. The video is pretty simple, and like most rap videos, features some dancing hoes. I don't know why he released this video; maybe it will be a single for the real album? Enjoy this nonetheless!

Ciara has been hard at work this year trying to release her album ''Fantasy Ride''. She finally did in May, due to her hit single "Love Sex Magic". She is now releasing her third single "Work" featuring Missy Elliot, a hot hip-hop / dance song with a sick beat, and a col tone to it. The video takes place on a construction site in the desert, and is really hot. Not to mention, CiCi looks gorgeous as well. I think with the correct promotion, this can be her true "comeback" single this year! Enjoy!

In the early hours of Monday morning, The Black Eyed Peas singer Will.i.Am and his body guards reportedly got into a quarrel with celebrity gossip blogger and bitch Perez Hilton at a hotel in Toronto, Canada. Perez posted to his Twitter at 3:45 a.m. that "[he] was assaulted by Will.i.Am of The Black Eyed Peas and his security guards". A second Tweet read: "I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke".

Will.iAm uploaded a video describing how it all went down. Supposedly it began when BEP were performing at a club and Fergie went up to Perez and asked why he had a problem with her. Perez has been bashing Fergie-Ferg for a while on his site, and she wanted to know why. He disrespected her with some rude remarks, making Fergie get emotional. She then goes and tells Will, who sees Perez at an after party.

In his video, Will says he told Hilton to not be so rude when referring to the group on his blog, and Perez responded with "I don't respect you". Will.i.Am stays chill, and moves on, and then Perez goes on to calling him a "faggot" in front of a bunch of fans, and walks away. Then all the fans start going crazy and pressuring Will to do something. Will.i.Am denies doing anything and that the assault was done by a fan.

Hilton responded to The Black Eyed Peas front man with a 12-minute rant, changing his story saying the group's manager Liborio Molina assaulted him. He then went to calling Will.i.Am a liar, with Will responding in a video saying: "Dude, apparently, you were bleeding outside the club ... and instead of calling the police, you [Tweeted] that I assaulted you", Will says. "Sounds like somebody wants mad attention and is not really concerned with his health".

On Monday afternoon Molina turned himself in to the police for the assault. A couple hours later, The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation [GLAAD] urge Perez to apologize and criticize him for using an anti-gay slur targeted towards Will.i.Am. Hilton said he would not apologize, and instead ordered an apology from GLAAD themselves.

UPDATE: The Toronto Police charged Molina with assault on Tuesday. He will be going to court on August 5th. Hilton's attorney said he will be taking legal actions and that "all persons responsible for this cowardly act of physical violence will be sued and held legally responsible for their actions". We here are definitely on Team Will.i.Am, and we hope he wins this trial. Perez is a pussy, and a big disgrace to the blogging community. Hopefully, he stops his stupid, senseless talking, and starts treating others with respect.

In July, Pink will be releasing her fourth international single "Funhouse", the title track off her album ''Funhouse''. To prepare for the release, she is premiering the music video as soon as possible. The song is a cool pop / rock song, with a very catchy chorus. The video is fun, and a typical Pink video. The guy from No Doubt makes an appearance, and I think it is one of her best videos since "U + Ur Hand". Let's see how this song performs on the charts! Enjoy the music video!

Justin got almost half the votes, and Nicole Scherzinger from The Pussycat Dolls follows in second with 24%. Congrats to him, even though it's not a really great thing, and stay tuned for the latest poll!

Almost a year and a half of the creation of girl-group Girlicious, member Tiffanie Anderson has been kicked out from the group. Rumors began circulating on MySpace and Twitter a couple weeks back, and now Tiff is officially confirming it on her YouTube page. In a five minute video below, she talks about Robin Antin and the new record label got rid of her because they were trying to lose the group's ''urban vibe''. She handled it with a lot of class and self-respect, and it is really sad to see such talent let go. Watch the video below for all the details, and let's hope to see her go solo soon!

In late August, Jamaican rapper Sean Kingston will be releasing his second album ''Tomorrow''. The album's lead single "Fire Burning" is a hot, upbeat hip-hop / pop song, which has already began charting well. He finally came around to premiering the video, and it's really cool. It is a club video, and features a lot of great dancers. Congrats top him for getting yet another hit, and I can only imagine what else is in store for him. Enjoy!

Yesterday, r&b diva Beyoncé released a video / remix compilation called ''Above and Beyoncé: Video Collection and Dance Remixes''. The album contains 6 club remixes to her songs "If I Were a Boy", "Single Ladies", "Diva", "Halo", "Ego" and "Broken-Hearted Girl". Videos for all those songs were also included in the album. Here is the video for "Broken-Hearted Girl", which is not going to be a single. The song is a nice, pop / r&b ballad, with a beautiful, scenic video. The first part of it is black and white, and a bit of color comes in around the 3:00 mark. This is a great video, and I hope to see more compilations like this by her soon! Enjoy!

After weeks of waiting and anxiousness, this morning Mariah Carey's newest single "Obsessed" from her album ''Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel'' leaked onto the internet. The song premiered on Chicago's B96 radio station, and is a bit of a switch-up from her usual work. This song has a more hip-hop / r&b feel to it, and is a diss to Eminem's song "Bagpipes from Baghdad", (off his album ''Relapse'') which talked bad about Mariah and her husband Nick Cannon. As a huge Mariah fan, I must say this song is absolutely amazing. This is ure to be her 19th #1, and I cannot wait to hear the rest of her album. Enjoy this!

Sometime this year, Cassie will be finally releasing her 2nd album, tentatively called ''Electro Love''. After a whole bunch of personal drama and the flop of her first single "Official Girl", she finally came around to releasing her second single off the album, ''Must Be Love'' featuring Diddy. The song is a nice, r&b track with a mellow, soul vibe to it. The video is pretty simple like the song, and it is the first time we see Cassie in a video with her new haircut. If Lil' Wayne couldn't give her a hit, I doubt Diddy will give her one with this single. Enjoy this though!

Female rapper Trina is set to release her latest studio album entitled ''Amazin''' this September, and it is about time she drops her first single! Her first single off the album is a track called "Work For It" featuring Ludacris. The song is a great crunk / hip-hop song, which does not hold back. It loses the r&b sound she had on her last album, and goes in the category of southern rap. I didn't like this at first but it is actually a cool song after a couple listens. Enjoy this exclusive world premiere!

This summer and fall many huge acts will be going on tour, like Beyoncé, No Doubt, etc. This past week a couple singers announced big plans for much bigger tours that will be happening starting this summer and even going on until 2010. Read this uick post below to get all the details!

First off, Leona Lewis revealed that after her yet-untitled sophomore album came out, she would do a massive world tour starting in 2010, and ending a year later in 2011. The 24 year-old British beauty told The Daily Star: "The music has a different feel this time. It’s more of a live, heavier sound with a lot of real instruments. It's something that I'll be able to perform live". I was quite hesitant at first, since her music is pretty slow, but after confirming a duet with Justin Timberlake, I got some hope that maybe this album will be more uplifting that ''Spirit''.

Next, is the big news that this fall Kanye West and Lady GaGa will be doing a tour together around North America. Not much information was released, but sources said on Wednesday that it was not a co-headlining tour, and she is not his opening act. The set list is going to be a mix of both their songs, but they might just perform some new material together. Stay tuned for more information, as it is revealed.

And lastly, the biggest news revolving tours came when Britney Spears announced a second US leg and Australian leg for her The Circus Starring Britney Spears tour. The second US leg will be starting in mid-August and ending in late September. She confirmed that this version will have a few changes to it [please more ''Circus'' songs!]. Her Aussie tour dates will be throughout the month of November. No support acts have been mention yet, but rumors are circulating that Ciara or Girlicious will be joining her. I can't wait to see her September 22nd in Los Angeles!

Hey there! I know the posts on this blog have been slowing down these past couple weeks, and I'm sorry to say it is not my fault! But on to the main subject of this post; I have been deleting a lot of affiliates off the list. If you look on the side, you can see about 20 of you guys have been removed. I only removed the blogs which haven't updated in 3 months or more, were shut down, or have removed us off their list. Sorry if you're mad that you have been removed, you should of updated your site!

But, as they say, out with the old, in with the new. I will be accepting new affiliates. I'll accept any decent blog, so don't be scared and leave us a comment in the tag board on the right, leave a comment here, or e-mail me at shukran121@hotmail.com. I'm sorry if you are waiting for more updates on this blog, and not getting them. This summer expect a bunch of new media from Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Shakira and more! And once again, thanks for visiting La Place de Musique!

In July, pop singer Jordin Sparks will is set to release her second album called ''Battlefield''. Her lead single of the same name has being quickly rising on the charts, and is soon to be huge! To hype the release of the album, Jordin premiered the music video fro the song on Monday, has been doing countless appearances, and finally has unveiled the cover art. The cover is a bit cheap, and a big turn down from her previous album's cover. I like the 'Jordin Sparks' font, but the 'Battlefield' font looks a bit ugly. Many fans have been complaining about, and one even demanding she change it. Let's see if Jive will listen to us for once! Enjoy this!

Last year, Madonna released her hit album ''Hard Candy'' to great sales from her first single "4 Minutes" with Justin Timberlake. After a huge world tour to promote the album, Madonna began work on another greatest hits album, which is said to be releasing in the fall. Here we finally have the long awaited video for her single from 10 months ago, "Miles Away". The song is a great electro-pop / r&b tune, with a nice, relaxing vibe to it. The video is unfortunately a live video, and just features clip from her Sticky & Sweet Tour. Don't expect this video to be shown on TV, and we can now officially call the era over. Enjoy this video though!

After a so-called 'retirement', Jay-Z is returning to the rap scene this year with his long-awaited album ''The Blueprint³''. The album's first promo single "Swagga Like Us" featuring T.I., Kanye West, and Lil' Wayne proved to be very successful, and Jay hopes for the same with his first official single "D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)". The track is a nice, raw hip-hop song, which uses absolutely no auto-tune, lol. It's a pretty hot song, and I can see this actually becoming a fan favorite. Enjoy the song!

Sometime next month, 2007's American Idol winner, Jordin Sparks is going to release her second album ''Battlefield''. The album's lead single, oddly named "Battlefield" as well has been slowly reaching the charts. The song is a pop / r&b power-ballad, similar tot her previous work. The video, clearly takes place on a battlefield, and is pretty strong and powerful compared to Jordin's sweet personality. The song should do wonders for her! Enjoy it!

Akon is a man of change, always mixing musical styles and trying new things. This year Akon took a big step by collaborating with Lebanese singer Melissa for his song "Yalli Nassini". The song, which from Arabic to English translates into "The One Who Forgot Me", is a r&b / pop song with good rap verses by Akon, and a nice Arabic chorus by Melissa. The video features a nice setting, great dancing from Melissa, and has a cool feel to it. I don't know if Akon will re-release his album ''Freedom" and have this a lead single, or if this is for a new project. Enjoy this exclusive American premiere of the video!

Bad Boy's current r&b group, Day26 recently released their second album ''Forever in a Day'' to alright sales. Thier first single "Imma Put it on Her" did not get the right promo it deserved, but this time around they are switching it up for their second single "Stadium Music". The song is a hip-hop / r&b track with a bit of an urban-rock beat to it. The video, actually doesn't take place in a stadium, and is a bit low-budget to me. Here's to hoping they get far with this song. Enjoy!

This summer is going to be a big one for Brooke Hogan as she will be releasing her sophomore effort ''The Redemption'' along with a mixtape called ''Judgement Day''. Here is a song which will appear on the mixtape, a remix of Jeremih's hit single "Birthday Sex". Her remix to the r&b tune gives the track a more feminine feel, and a whole different take IMO. Rapper Fabolous is also featured on this track. I really like this remix, and it is one of my favorites from anyone in a long time! Enjoy this exclusive!
