Faydee is an upcoming r&b / pop singer from Australia! The singer, originally of Lebanese descent has been reaching a lot of popularity down under and internationally aswell. I recently found out about him on Last.FM and really fell in love with his songs! He reminds me lot of Justin Timberlake, expect with less dance and more soul. Here is his first official single "Never Ever", and its a pretty hot pop track which could be a huge hit! When this guy becomes huge, you can say you heard him first here! Enjoy!

This upbeat pop / dance track is gonna tear up the charts this coming year! Does anyone else smell a ''Doll Domination'' re-release? Enjoy this!!

Sometime next year Ciara will release her third album ''Fantasy Ride''! Her first official single "Never Ever" featuring Young Jeezy will be out next month, but in the mean time CiCi is giving her fans a little gift, a pre-''Fantasy Ride'' mixtape. Here we have a song off that mixtape which is a cover of Beyoncé's latest single called "Diva". This remix is pretty hot and features some new lyrics to the hip-hop influenced song. Maybe this might even pop up onto the ablum? Enjooy!

After spawning 2 hit singles from her album ''One of the Boys'', Katy Perry has decided to move on to her 3rd single "Thinking of You". "Thinking of You" is an okay, pop / rock song, good to listen to but not exactly radio-friendly. The video for the song is completely different though. It tells a beautiful love story and the story seems to take place during the time of World War II, in the US. T think this video will do really good for the song and her! Enjoy it!

This month r&b / pop singer Beyoncé will be continuing her rein of double singles with the tracks "Halo" and "Diva" off her album ''I Am ... Sasha Fierce''! "Halo" is a great midtempo r&b ballad while "Diva" is an upbeat, hip-hop / pop song that will tear up the charts! The videos follow the style of the songs. The "Halo" video was beautifully shot and tells a love story between 2 characters [one of them being Beyoncé herself]. On the other hand, the video for "Diva" features her dancing around in all sort of costumes, and proving she is a true diva. Both these videos are spectacular, and I know they will be big in the upcoming 2009. Enjoy them!!

Early next year pop star Nick Lachey is set to make his comeback to music after almost 2 years! Here we have Nick's first single "Patience", which is set to start impacting airwaves next month. The song features the more rocker side to him, and is overall a nice pop song to listen to. So far Nick's new music is sounding way better than ex-wife Jessica Simpson's, lol. Enjoy this!!

Next year rapper Flo Rida is set to release his untitled sophomore album. After the success of collaborations like "Low" with T-Pain, Flo has yet again collaborated with an unknown female for his latest track called "Right Round". The song is an amazing, uptempo hip-hop rendition of rock group Dead or Alive's 1984 hit "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)". The song has great potential to be huge on the charts! Enjoy!

NEW MUSIC: Justin Timberlake featuring T.I. ~ "If I Talk"

Next year pop superstar Justin Timberlake is set to release his 3rd solo studio album. After spending the most part of 2008 in the studio, we finally have a new track from him! The song which is rumored to be his first single is called "If I Talk" featuring T.I. The song produced by Timbaland, is an okay, retro-pop song, which is pretty boring and repetitive. T.I. steals the spotlight in the song with his r&b verse. This won't become a hit anytime soon, but JT can always hope. Enjoy!!

This year has been a bitter-sweet one for the girls of Danity Kane. They released their album ''Welcome to the Dollhouse'' to the #1 spot and also lost 2 of it's members, Aubrey O'Day and D. Woods. Here we have a left over track from their album called "She Can't Love You" which finally leaked in HQ. The song is a nice midtempo pop / r&b track which features all of the 5 original girls' vocals. This would have been the perfect song for their album! Enjoy it!

2008 was a great year for music. We had so many great new artists, so many hit singles, and great comebacks from so many artists! With this year almost history, it is time La Place de Musique reviews the top albums released this year. In Part 1 of the countdown we will share with you albums number #10 to #6. I made a short review for each album and a download for the album's best track. Check it out below and be sure to stay tuned for Part 2!

#10: Ashanti ~ ''The Declaration''. After 4 years, Ashanti returns with her album ''The Declaration''. The album did not gain a lot of commercial success, but IMO was really outstanding. Her voice has seemed to really matured, and she really had some great ballads. This depreciated album definitely deserves the 10th spot on our countdown. DOWNLOAD: "Body on Me" [#1 | #2]

#9: Flo Rida ~ ''Mail on Sunday''. Newcomer rapper Flo Rida really had an amazing year with 2008. His debut album ''Mail on Sunday'' rose to the top of the charts and spawned great singles! The album had a bunch of club bangers and other good rap songs. Flo and his production team combined hip-hop with pop, r&b, and soul to create a truly unforgettable album! DOWNLOAD: "Elevator" [#1 | #2]

#8: Girlicious ~ ''Girlicious''. More newcomers onto our list are the girls of Girlicious. The group formed on the TV show The Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious, proved to be a class act with their debut album. ''Girlicious'' features hot Top 40 songs and irresistible ballads, really showing all of the girls' talents. DOWNLOAD: "Baby Doll" [#1 | #2]

#7: Janet Jackson ~ ''Discipline''. Ms. Janet Jackson made her comeback this year with her 10th studio album ''Discipline''. The album, unlike her last featured hot pop / dance songs with hip-hop influence. ''Discipline'' also had nice relaxed songs as well as perfect music for the clubs. Janet really proved with this album that she will never back down! DOWNLOAD: "Luv" [#1 | #2]

#6: Lady GaGa ~ ''The Fame''. 2008 was also a great year for Lady GaGa. The New York born electro-pop singer gained international success this year with her album ''The Fame''. This album showcases incredible pop / dance songs with great funk, electro and r&b influences. This is an amazing club record, and the hottest dance album we've seen in a really long time! On Tuesday the princess of pop, Britney Spears made history and released her comeback album ''Circus''. The album was set to great start with the first single "Womanizer", and is now continuing with her second official single "Circus"! The song is an amazing pop / dance / r&b song, with a great beat and hit single potential. The video for the song does follow a circus-like theme and has some of the best choreography ever from her! I also love the cute intro, which isn't apart of the song. Expect this song to very far very soon! Enjoy!!

Most off you who are good fans of Destiny's Child must remember Kelly Rowland. The girl who sang back-up to Beyoncé and had the short hair. If you don't know, Ms. Rowland embarked in a solo career twice. Once in 2002 and one last year, both failing horribly. Well it seems Kelly is done! A source who works very closely with Sony / BMG tells us that Destiny's Child singer is set to change lanes when it comes to her her manager and career. She was recently spotted meeting with 19 Entertainment’s Simon Fuller (The Spice Girls, Carrie Underwood), who she is expected to announce as her new manager at the top of the year. We predict her current manager Mathew Knowles, a.k.a. Beyoncé's daddy, ain’t gonna like this.

Kelly may not be the superstar that her group member Beyoncé is in the United States, but the singer is a mega-star in Europe where she has been playing arena-size venues with the biggest international pop acts. Apparently the insider is saying the 27-year-old is tired of playing the backseat to Beyoncé who is also managed by Papa Knowles and intends to ax B’s daddy in the coming weeks. Stay tuned as we get some more emerging details in the coming weeks!

Nominations for the 51st Annual Grammy Awards were announced tonight for the big show on February 8, 2009 and reflected one of the most diverse years ever with the Album of the Year category alone representing the rap, r&b, folk and rock genres. Dirty South rapper Lil' Wayne topped the nominations with eight, Coldplay garnered seven, and Jay-Z, Ne-Yo and Kanye West each earned six nods.

Lil' Wayne is currently nominated in the categories for Album of the Year, Best Rap Solo Performance, Best Rap Performance By a Group or Duo (3 times), Best Rap Song (2 times), and Best Rap Album. He will be going up against big names like T.I. and Snoop Dogg, among many others.

For the first time, nominations for the annual Grammy Awards were announced on prime-time television as part of The Grammy Nominations Live! - Countdown to Music's Biggest Night. The one-hour special, which was broadcast live on CBS from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, featured past Grammy winners and nominees reading nominations in several categories, as well as performing songs in celebration of the grand opening of the Grammy Museum this year. Be sure to catch the show February 8th on CBS!

In 13 days Keyshia Cole will be releasing her third studio album ''A Different Me''! Her first single "Playa Cardz Right" featuring the rapper Tupac Shakur (R.I.P.) is doing okay on the charts and it seems she is now moving on to her second single "You Complete Me". The song is a nice, pop / r&b ballad with outstanding vocals which premiered today on her MySpace. This song is truly one of her best, and I hope it takes her far! Enjoy it!!

Next March rapper Busta Rhymes will be releasing his first new album in almost 3 years! His first single "We Made It" with Linkin Park barely made it onto the charts and was deemed a failure. We know have the video for his second single "Arab Money". The song is a hot hip-hop song which features rap / Arabian styled beats while using the autotone feature. The video for the track is actually pretty hot, and it features many famous rappers like Akon and DJ Khaled. Hope Busta gets a hit! Enjoy the video!!

One of the newest sensations this year, Lady GaGa has already struck a success with he single "Just Dance". After a well charting album ''The Fame'' it seems she has decided to release a Christmas song while she was on a high. The song is called "Christmas Tree" and it adds a nice electro-pop feel to the classic holiday song of the same name. This song is actually really addictive and I think it would be a great EP for her release around this time. Enjoy it!!

December is one of the most joyful and celebrated months of the whole year and we have decided to bring this holiday cheer to La Place de Musique! In honor of the Holiday Season we have an amazing new banner to go with his month's theme. I decided to use Mariah Carey (You know that doggie is just adorable!) and Britney Spears in honor of the release of her new album ''Circus'', which is out today! This banner will only be temporary and will only be up till early January when we will have another new banner. Be sure to leave any feedback / comments on it! Enjoy it!!

Next week r&b singer Brandy will be releasing her first album with Epic Records called ''Human''. Her first single "Right Here (Departed)" did surprisingly well and she is now slowing it down for her second single "Long Distance". The song is a nice midtempo pop / soul ballad and perfect for the Holiday Season. The video has a nice storyline to it and very emotionally powerful. I really hope Brandy makes it big with this amazing song! Enjoy the video!!
